This week the random journal "page" is actual two spreads from one of my sketchbooks. A bit tongue in cheek, the Upanishads quote of "That is perfect. This is perfect. Perfect comes from perfect. Take perfect from perfect, the remainder is perfect." I do love the quote, but I can't help but enjoy subverting it a bit with the idealized pop-art characters taken from a political flyer.

I'm following Sandy the Zine on Instagram. It's a funny feminist corner of the web filled with pictures and memes -- a bright and friendly place to hang out for a while.

I'm in love with these delicate images of organs composed of flowers by Camila Carlow. Kidneys made of moss and tendrils and a heart that could pass as a bridal bouquet.

I'm following The Riot Grrrl Project, specifically their Instagram account, which is filled with punk rock flyers, band photos, and grrrl power! I see they're doing a cool book project that I think I'll look into contributing some of my work.

Daisy Mojave Holland creates a quirky, individual, feminist group of characters with her funny and smart illustrations. Each one being themself without apologies, I love her women -- I want all of them for my friends!

I'm following Kathleen Hanna; her Instagram account is filled with images from her life that appeal to my punk side. Also the brilliant use of a sanitary pad as a band-aid is a pro life tip for all!

To Scale: The Solar System by Wylie Overstreet is part documentary video, part astronomy lesson, and part land-art installation. Watch Overstreet set up a scale model of the solar system using a marble for Earth. The planets are lit up and the final results are filmed at night.
