Les Trois Inventeurs by Michel Ocelot is a beautiful, stop-motion film made from cut paper. I find it charming and it's a great story of tradition vs. progress. This is the best quality I can find. Also there's a dubbed version over on Vimeo if you prefer.

This week's random page from one of my sketchbooks. Violent Winter Star

This week I'm still exploring close to home! At the head of the Ohlone trail behind our place is a beautiful wildflower area. The first time I took pictures here was years ago and I met the gardener. He's an older gentleman and was knowledgeable about photography and we had a lovely chat. I asked him how many people helped him maintain the area and he replied that he worked alone. The area has tripled in those years and we have a gorgeous garden to enjoy. It's a pretty sweet deal for apartment dwellers. If any botanical gurus would like to help me name them, I'll update this post!
