This pastel drawing from one of my sketchbook is on facing pages is my silly way of simulating sex in a book. I especially like the slight transfer of the images that has happened over time.
1973, the photo book Dream Collector by Arthur Tress was published and his images are just as evocative today. I loved his images when I first saw them in school and they continue to resonate deeply with me. The beautiful photographs are surreal recreations of the fears of youth.
This week's random page from my sketchbooks. The words are part of a Sister Nagster script and that section of this site should go live by the end of the year.
My awesome brother-in-law, Matthew, came to town for his job and was staying in the Fisherman's Wharf area. So of course we went to hang out with him and wander around this scenic part of San Francisco. I think that this is the first time I have walked out to the very end of Aquatic Park Pier. The view from there is amazing!
Haunted Antiques Roadshow delivers exactly what the name promises, the "creepiest" of the items featured on the long running show. Bonnie Burton is the awesome person responsible for this fun collection and they take the time to summarize the interaction and the appraisal value! Personally, I always love the old dolls, so I think they're gorgeous.
En Puntas by Javier Pérez is a stunning film featuring the powerful ballerina Amélie Ségarra. Filmmaker and dancer come together to create a breathtaking video.
Delicate porcelain is the perfect material to create babies as millions of twee figurines prove, but Johnson Tsang's are a far cry from the Precious Moments of my childhood. I love the quirky expressions and the titles imply that the images reflect family dynamics.
