This week's random journal page is filled with memorabilia from a Pittsburg trip.

Between the Buried and Me's video "Astral Body" is a magical, mystical video directed by Wes Richardson. I love the way the video combines shots of nature with geometric animations. This combo pairs well with the song which is both melodic and heavy.

Bill Domonkos is a talented GIF maker, creating mysterious moving images using vintage imagery.

A long, long time ago when I worked at the kinky copy center, Wesley Willis hung out in my computer department. One day he wrote me this love song. It was never recorded, but I can hear it in his voice and it's one of my favorite things.

Photographs Rendered in Play-Doh is one of my favorite blogs. Eleanor Macnair recreates both historical and modern photographs using Play-Doh. Fun and playful, these colorful creations are a joy to look at. She posts lost of in progress shots over on her Instagram.

This week's random journal page from one of my journals. If you're paying attention you might recognize the black and white copy from this old collage from maybe 1992.

Isaad Cordal describes his piece, Follow the Leaders, as "a critical reflection on our inertia as a social mass. Representing a social stereotype associated with power compound businessmen who run the global social spectrum… [The pices] represent a kind of city in ruins: a metaphor for the collapse of capitalism and the side effects of progress." I really love the size and scale of the work.

I'm following Incidental Comics – a blog featuring clever comics by Grant Snider. Most of his comics are about the creative process including writing, drawing and being an artist. I've included a couple here, but you should definitely go over and check out the entire series of smart, funny reflections on creating and other artsy stuff.
