Fallen by Tanya Marcuse is a gorgeous series of decomposing fruits and vegetables. She uses a 4x5 camera to produce stunning images that embrace the beauty in decay.
Taxi in the Sea is a beautiful series of layered photographs by Issui Enomoto, a taxi driver in Yokohama, Japan. He keeps his camera with him while driving around creating depth and a timelessness of the late night action in a large city.
Skulls by Jim is truth in advertising. Jim makes ambrotypes and sculptures. They're gorgeous and often using unconventional materials, but always the image is a skull.

I'm a fan of Tarkovsky, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that his Polaroid photos have been published! 60 of his Polaroids from the 70s and 80s have been published in Instant Light: Tarkovsky Polaroids by Thames and Hudson.
These images are from Antonia Basler's Poster series. I find her work quirky and engaging, whimsical and feminine with a clean, almost commercial, esthetic. I think my favorite is the image of the bullets converted into little planters.

I love her choice of subject, the way they've been chosen, and her photography style. I'm thrilled to find out she's local and I'm going to have to add another book to my wish list!
