Chris Kindred created these sketchbook drawings of the Baltimore riots for The Nib and they are powerful indeed! The rawness of his style suits the rawness of emotion. Wide shots of the riots alternate with intimate portraits of participants.

I'm following Incidental Comics – a blog featuring clever comics by Grant Snider. Most of his comics are about the creative process including writing, drawing and being an artist. I've included a couple here, but you should definitely go over and check out the entire series of smart, funny reflections on creating and other artsy stuff.

WTF secrets is an amazing blog featuring weekly illustrated versions of these secrets – many of which were first posted over on a Reddit thread. Some are definitely NSFW (not the illustrations, but the text) depending on your job, and others are just plain disturbing.

I love Ernst Haeckels' drawings of flora and fauna, but these Christmas cards are just awesome! I love the way the cephalopods become the holiday star. Merry Christmas!

I absolutely adore the series Rites of Passage by Winnie Troung, These gorgeous drawings are soft and the line work is intricately detailed. Also, I would love to have a cool skull hairdo!
