Back to traditional zombies we're moving on to World War Z: Quarantine Cinema. Produced by and starring Brad Pitt, this big budget, box office hit is a fun, entertaining zombie flick.
World War Z: Quarantine Cinema Day 6
The day starts normally for Gerry Lane, his wife Karin (Mireille Enos), and their two daughters Constance (Sterling Jerins) and Rachel (Abigail Hargrove)
Their normal morning is rudely interrupted and predictably the family ends up fleeing.
Dave said it should have been a Wawa until they got inside. More like a Shoprite, amirte?
Lane is an ex United Nations employee and is pressured by Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena) to leave his family behind and investigate the disease.
Looking for patient zero starting with a trip to the walled city of Jerusalem in Israel where Lane meets with leader Jurgen Warmbrunn (Ludi Boeken).
These zombies swarm like ants, plus They're fast and persistent.
Daniella Kertesz delivers an amazing performance as Segen as they run from and fight the zombie horde.
Fellow 12 Monkeys actor David Morse plays an Ex-CIA Agent who adds another clue to Lane's puzzle.
The W.H.O. is filled with famiar faces.
The four main doctors we meet are played by Pierfrancesco Favino, Ruth Negga, Moritz Bleibtreu, and Peter Capaldi.
I'll admit, I'm tickled that he's Doctor Who and W.H.O. Doctor.
With a budget of $190,000,000, the locations are unsurprisingly beautiful. It does pass the Bechdel test, and there is some diversity in the cast. That said, most characters get little screen time or development as the film is a Brad Pitt vehicle and he dominates. Luckily he's got the acting chops to pull it off.
