This image reminds me of a lovely essay on wabi sabi "In Praise of Shadows" where author Junichiro Tanizaki writes: "Such is our way of thinking—we find beauty not in the in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, the one thing against another creates." A slender volume that introduced me to the concept of wabi sabi and the Japanese aesthetic.
